Biography:

Jason Pearson is originally from Freeport, IL. He played his collegiate years at Div. I Illinois State University from 1994-98. Jason was drafted to the Florida Marlins in 1998. In 1999, Pearson played for the Sioux Falls Canaries of the Northern League and finished the season with a 2.93 E.R.A. He played for the Fargo Redhawks also of the Northern League in the summer of 2000 where he finished the season with a 10-3 record and a 3.01 E.R.A., which was good enough for third in the league. He was chosen as the Northern League Rookie-of-the-Year and was also voted to the All-Star Game and the Post All-Star Game.
In 2001, Pearson was picked up by the Cincinnati Reds and then traded to the San Diego Padres and played in AA for the Mobile Baybears. In 2002, he was bumped up to AAA and played for the Portland Beavers. Pearson was called up in June 2002 to pitch in the majors for the San Diego Padres.
Pearson works with the pitchers and has been with USF for three years in his off-season.
