Kevin Knetsch, a native of Duluth, MN, is
a 2001 graduate of the University of Sioux Falls. At USF, he majored
in Media Marketing with extensive studies in public relations and broadcast
journalism.
Knetsch began his college career at Muscatine CC in Muscatine, IA where
he was named a two-time NJCAA Academic All-American. He then transferred
to the University of Sioux Falls in the spring of 2000 where he led
the Cougars offensively and finished the season 13th in the nation with
a batting average of .447. Knetsch was also voted Co-MVP by his teammates.
He holds Cougar single-season records for hits (67), on-base percentage
(.653), and is second in runs (49). Knetsch also holds the career on-base
percentage record at USF (.598). Also during his career at USF, Knetsch
was a two-time first team All-Conference selection at short-stop and
a two-time NAIA Academic All-American.
Knetsch currently works in public relations for the Sioux Falls Skyforce
and is the head Sioux Falls Post 15 West Legion coach, as well as the
O’Gorman High School head baseball coach. Knetsch is in his second
season as an assistant at USF and works with the infield and hitters,
with a current emphasis on recruiting.
